Abstract

932,305. Floor cramps. C. J. GOWLAND. Feb. 14, 1962 [Nov. 23, 1960], No. 40253/60. Class 61. A floor cramp capable of engagement on to a single joist or nailing strip solely on the upper surface thereof comprises a mounting bar 4 adapted to lie along the upper surface of the joist &c. and having detent means for driving into the surface. As shown, the cramp comprises an eccentric 1 rotatably mounted on a journal 2 secured to the upper portion 3 of the mounting bar 4, the eccentric being mounted to bear on the floor board 13. The lower portion 6 of the bar has on its underside two longitudinally spaced sets of teeth 7 having one face normal and one face inclined to the adjacent surface to the bar. Four holes 10 through which rails are driven are provided in the portion 6 of the bar. The eccentric has two radial holes to receive a levering bar 12 which is inserted appropriately. A wooden wedge 15 is adapted to be introduced into the gap between the periphery of the eccentric and the intermediate portion 5 of the bar whereby to lock the eccentric in selected position.
