931,948. Heating systems and apparatus for buildings. L. T. KOPONEN. Oct. 18, 1961 [Oct. 22, 1960], No. 37293/61. Class 64 (2). In a water-circulation central heating system comprising a circuit pipe 2, a pump for forcing water through the circuit pipe 2, and radiators 8, each connected by two branch pipes 3 and 5 to the circuit pipe, the two branch pipes connected to each radiator are spaced apart by a distance substantially less than the length of the radiator, and the circuit pipe 2 is free of any internal obstruction between its connections to the two branch pipes connected to each radiator. As shown, the two branch pipes 3 and 5 extend between the top of the circuit pipe 2 and the bottom of the radiator 8, the pipe 3 being connected to a corner of the radiator. Isolation valves (not shown), may be included in the branch pipes, and the water flow through the radiators is by natural convection only, the pump forcing water only through the circuit pipe.
