1,073,252. Water cooling systems for steam condensers. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 4, 1965 [June 5, 1964], No. 23335/64. Addition to 905,924. Heading BIB. [Also in Division F2] The water cooling system for cooling water condensate from a direct-contact spray condenser in several air heat exchange sectors 42 disclosed in the parent Specification is modified by providing the rotatable plug 12 of each plug valve 3 associated with a sector 42 with a diametric passageway 110 so that when the sector is out of use and is being emptied with the valve positioned as in Fig. 3 warm water from the condenser passes via port 8 and through the passageway 110 to port 5, and is returned to the sprays 101. Water is at the same time emptied from the sector through both pipes 46 and 49 and through ports 6 and 9 and ports 7 and 4 to drain tank 48.
