Abstract
930,560. Endless chain conveyers. W. H. BARKER & SON ENGINEERS Ltd. Jan. 15, 1962 [Jan. 25, 1961], No. 2884/61. Class 78 (1). An endless conveyer for conveying a continuous mass of flowable solid material has a straight-sided casing 10 in which is mounted a chain 11 having flights 14 connected to it. In Fig. 2, each flight is made from stiff metallic or non-metallic strip and lies adjacent the interior surfaces of the casing 10 only intermediate the corners thereof at four positions around the periphery of the flight. Modifications.-In Fig. 3, pieces 17 which can make contact with the sides of the casing 10 are bonded to the flight by pads 18 of rubber or like material. In Fig. 4, the flight is in the form of a resilient loop 19. The flight in Fig. 5 has integrally formed loops 20 which increase the resiliency of the flight. The sides of the casing may be provided with renewable rubbing strips.
