Abstract
936,778. Tunnels. J. D. CUMMING. Oct. 18, 1961 [Oct. 21, 1960], No. 37359/61. Class 85. [Also in Group XXV] A resilient dished bearing member, i.e. a large washer (see Group XXV), for bearing on a mine roof at the free end of a rock bolt, may be bent to form channels 47, Fig. 7c, at corners, for holding roof-supporting rods 40 (coupled by threaded sleeves 42, Fig. 7) against the roof. The rods 40 may support wire mesh to act as reinforcement for sprayed concrete. The bearing members may be rectangular, Figs. 7a, 7b (not shown), with channels 47 at two opposite sides or corners.
