Abstract

936,502. Subcalibre practice ammunition. H.J. DIEDERICHS, [trading as NICO-PYROTECHNIK HANNS - JURGEN DIEDERICHS]. Feb. 16, 1961 [May 27, 1960], No. 5832/61. Class 9 (1). Subcalibre practice ammunition for anti-tank weapons is constructed having a propellant charge tube 4, a shank 2 of wood or thermoplastic material, and a head 1 of metal, or metal sheathed with thermoplastic material. Fins 6 are inserted tangentially into grooves 5 of the shank 2. Tracer equipment 8 is secured to the lower end of the shank 2. Detonating means 14 is connected through a cable 15 to a plug 16. In a further embodiment, an additional charge is provided, which acoustically resembles firing of the ammunition and comprises a tube 17, a powder charge 18, a ring 19, a tramping charge 20, and a base-plate 21 attached to the lower end. In this embodiment, the charge 11 of the projectile is ignited through a bore 22 when the charge 18 is fired.
