Abstract

936,089. Tractor winch attachments. D. S. GRIFFITH. April 10, 1962 [Jan. 10, 1961], No. 943/61. Class 78 (5). A bracket 14, Fig. 3, for attachment to a tractor and carrying a lay-shaft 13 for driving reel 29 from the power take-off shaft 10, comprises a pair of longitudinally-extending bars 18 adapted for alternative two-position attachment of a second bracket carrying the reel 29 and arranged so that the reel 29 may have its axis longitudinally or transversely of the tractor. The bracket 14 is attached to the tractor through forwardly and upwardly extending members 15 pivoted to lugs 16 on the tractor. The second bracket comprises pairs of parallel tubes 23, 24 arranged at right angles and carrying upstanding member 27a on which the frame 30 is mounted. The tubes 23, 24 are locked on the bars 18 by a pin 26. The layshaft 13 is coupled to the reel 29 through a radial arm 21 and a winding handle 28a when the reel axis is longitudinal of the tractor. A guide for the cable comprises a pivoted pigtail 31a which may be oscillated automatically by a cam.
