Abstract
923,401. Planing. H. A. WALDRICH G.m.b.H. July 28, 1959 [Aug. 12, 1958], No. 25916/59. Class 83 (3). A planing machine comprises an elongated beam-like table 12 having vertical side wall extensions to carry workpieces 15 such as railway rails. The table 12 is carried on a bed 6 having side columns 7, 8 connected by a crossbeam 17. A rail 15, Fig. 3, is guided into position by rollers 22 and rollers 26 on spring- pressed plungers 28 mounted in the table wall 14. The rails are clamped against blocks 18, Fig. 2, by pressure members 20. The toolheads 16 have adjustable tool-slides. The table may be triangular in form with one workpiece mounted at the apex as well as workpieces on the sides. Tool-heads may be mounted on the cross-beam. The workpieces may be clamped mechanically or hydraulically against the sides of the table.
