Abstract

927,870. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. SCOVILL MANUFACTURING CO. April 25, 1960 [April 29, 1959], No. 14453/60. Class 102(2). [Also in Group XXIX] An aerosol dispensing valve assembly comprises a tubular housing 10 constituting a valve chamber 11, an elastic sealing washer 12 seating on top of the housing and maintained in sealing contact therewith by a container closure 15, a U-shaped open-ended tubular valve member 13 in the chamber having arms of unequal length, the long arm passing slidably through the washer in sealing contact, a spring 14 arranged to normally urge the open end of the short arm into sealing engagement with the washer. The housing 10, which may be of a synthetic plastic material, is clamped between the washer 12, of elastic material, and flange 21 formed on the closure 15. The valve member 13 is guided in channels 10f formed in the housing.
