Abstract

927,711. Faced corrugated paper-board. R. BIRK. Jan. 18, 1961 [Jan. 30, 1960], No. 2019/61. Classes 42 (2) and 96. In the production of faced, corrugated paperboard, a web 11 is undulated and interposed between rods 1 moving in guides 2, in a circular course, by a ribbed roller 10, the ribs of which are in spaced sections to allow for guide fingers 17 to hold the corrugated web down against the rods as it advances towards an adhesive-coated facing-ply 13. The compound web, after passing a brake 16, is deflected over a roll 14 to enable the rods 1 to be taken out of the corrugations and moved towards the ribbed roller 10 by projections 8 extending from a conveyer 7 at each side of the machine. In a modification, the conveyers 7 are substituted by pairs of toothed wheels.
