Abstract
924,711. Hauling and paying out between booms. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. March 16, 1960 [March 18, 1959], No. 9282/60. Class 78 (4). A load 3 to be hauled between two booms 7, 9 is suspended from a lifting fall 4 which passes from one boom 7 over a pulley 5 carried from a guide fall 6 running from the other boom 9. The pulley 5 is additionally supported, from a pulley 13 running on a track cable 11 supported between the booms and including a resilient portion 12 so that the cable 11 supports substantially no proportion of the load, but only the weight of pulley 5 and guide fall 6. The falls 4 and 6 may be operated by separate winches, or by drums which can be selectively coupled to a single engine by an arrangement which permits them to be driven in opposite directions at equal speeds.
