Abstract

913,092. Two-part couplings. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Jan. 13, 1961 [Jan. 15, 1960], No. 1558/61. Class 38 (1). A multi-contact plug for fixing on to the end of a printed circuit board 5 (Fig. 1), comprises a plurality of contact tapes 2 wrapped round an insulated strip 1 in front and rear edge notches 4<SP>1</SP> and 4. The two ends 3 of each tape are bent down and around the edge of the printed circuit board 5, as shown in Fig. 2, for soldering on to the respective printed circuit strip, every other, rear inter-notch projection 8 being lengthened to overlap on to the printed circuit board to be held thereon by a raised part 7 of a metal plate 6, said metal plate, insulated strip and printed circuit board being held together by rivets 9 and bent-over ears 13. The edges of the tape ends 3 may be bent up to form a channel to receive the terminal wire of a component mounted on the printed circuit board (Fig. 4, not shown).
