Abstract

912,328. Sensing record cards. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. April 14, 1960 [April 23, 1959], No. 13476/60. Class 106 (1). [Also in Group XXIV] A sensing head 10 is reciprocated over a punched or magnetic record 12 by an abutment 22 on a driven band 24 which alternately engages stops 25, 28 on the carriage 14. Sensing may be photo-electric, the record being movable on a carriage 11 at right angles to the movement of carriage 14 to select successive rows of data. There may be sensing heads above and below the record to read different data from the two sides.
