Abstract

1445138 Time recorders J SCHLENKERGRUSEN 7 Sept 1973 [7 Sept 1972] 42248/73 Heading G4T Apparatus for recording time details and similar to that disclosed in Specification 1,392,507 is operatively associated with a time recording card and a computer, and the scanning or punching device of Specification 1,392,507 is replaced by a scanning and recording device, which is linearly movable along a strip of the card, to read time data therefrom, the read data being fed to a computer, which also receives time data from other sources and calculates up-dated data, which the device records on the strip during a subsequent passage along same. The strip may receive magneticallyencoded data, in which case the device includes a magnetic reading head and a magnetic writing head. Alternatively, the device may comprise photo-electric sensing elements for optically reading data from the strip, dust covers or cleaning devices for the elements being provided. The linear movement is imparted to the device by a rack and pinion arrangement.
