Abstract

919,950. Cooling projection lamps. ZEISS IKONA.G. Oct. 24, 1961 [Nov. 5, 1960; Sept. 28, 1961], No. 38089/61. Class 75 (4). [Also in Group XL (a)] A projection lamp using a high-pressure gas discharge lamp as the light source includes a fan for cooling the lamp during operation, movably mounted on the lamp housing. In the form shown, the lamp 4 is supported in the housing 1 in front of a concave mirror 5. A fan 7 is carried by a support 6 which can be moved on rods 2 in a direction parallel to the axis of projection. An air diverting member 8 of insulating material and a hood 9 are mounted on the support 6 and a small auxiliary reflector is carried by a rod 11 on the hood 9. In a modification, a cowl open towards the fan and towards the auxiliary reflector is provided on the side of the reflector remote from the lamp, outlet openings being provided on the edges of the hood adjacent the reflector.
