Abstract

918,860. Transistor amplifiers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 27, 1959 [Dec. 2, 1958], No. 40417/59. Class 40 (6). In a low-noise transistor amplifier the working point of transistor 1 having a base resistor 5 is stabilized by the collector direct current of a later transistor 2 conducted by way of the emitter-collector path of transistor 1, transistor 2 being stabilized by means of negative feedback in emitter resistor 6 and by voltage divider 7, 8. With such an arrangement the emitter direct current variations occurring in transistor 1 correspond to the direct current variations in transistor 2 which latter variations remain within permissible limits. In a further embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), a third transistor is connected beyond transistor 2, the base resistor 5 of transistor 1 being connected to the collector of the third transistor so as to produce negative feed-back. The third transistor may be operated in common collector arrangement in order that the amplifier may be connected to a cable.
