917,260. Belt fastenings. PNEUMATIQUES ET CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE KLEBER COLOMBES. Nov. 22, 1961 [Nov. 22, 1960], No. 41768/61. Class 80 (1). In a joint for a natural or synthetic rubber belt the ends 1 to be joined are cut to complementary saw-toothed shapes 6 adapted to fit into one another, the sides of the teeth are coated with solvent, a thin sheet of crude rubber is applied to the sides of the teeth and the joint is subjected to pressure. In a multiply belt the joint may be made in the core and the outer layers reconstituted with crude rubber vulcanized to the belt with, or without, additional reinforcing plies.
