A tyre repair patch comprises a vulcanized reinforcing body composed of cross-laid layers or strips 2, 3 of rubberized parallel-cords and at least one layer 6 of cross-woven fabric, the warp and weft of which are of equal tensile strength, the layer 6 extending beyond the outer edges of the layers 2, 3. As shown, the body is sandwiched between rubber layers, such as 9, and the layer 6 has its edge scalloped to rosette form. More than one pair of parallel cord layers 2, 3 may be used, and the layer 6 may be unitary as shown, or may be built up from cross-laid, round-ended strips disposed below, or between the pairs of cord layers. In the form shown in Fig. 4, strips 27a to 27d forming the fabric layer may be disposed to leave uncovered the central overlapping area 26 of the cross-laid cord layers 24, 25, thus effectively reducing the thickness of the patch. When moulded, the patch may be given a curvature in all directions to conform with the inner surface of a tyre, and arrowed tabs may be incorporated to facilitate handling and positioning with the cords of the body aligned with those of the tyre. The body cords may be nylon, rayon or both in each layer 2, 3.
