Abstract
915,952. Making nails; corrugating; bending dies. DUBINI, A., and DUBINI, U. July 1, 1960 [July 3, 1959], No. 23157/60. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). [Also in Group XXV] A method of making nails or staples in a strip (Fig. 8a) comprises the steps of first corrugating a metal strip transversely (Fig. 1a) then cutting at least one of its edges so as to form at the end of each corrugation a nail point and finally stamping and partly piercing (Fig. 5a) the strip in order to partly isolate the individual nails. The corrugating is performed by intermeshing rollers 1 and 2 (Fig. 1) and the pointing of the nail ends in a reciprocating die. When staples are made, the formed strip is folded in a reciprocating die (Figs. 8 and 9).
