Abstract

903,277. Packaging-machines. MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER A.G. May 9, 1960 [May 15, 1959], No. 16331/60. Class 94(1). [Also in Group IX] A device for guiding bobbins ejected from a winding machine into a storage container comprises a flexible shoot formed by a frame A having hinged closure flaps 12 and suspended from belts 5, 6. The belts are wound round rollers 7, 8 which are connected by gears 20 and one of which is driven through a clutch to lower the shoot into the magazine. When the frame is resting on the bottom or on previously fed bobbins, a gate 2 is raised by the winder permitting a bobbin 4 to fall to the bottom of the shoot. The shoot is then wound up and the flaps 12 open under the bobbin's weight to discharge it. Alternatively, mechanical means (not described) may open the flaps. The flaps 12 may have rollers, Fig. 3 (not shown) on their underside to enable the frame to move over accumulated bobbins. The container may be reciprocated during filling to distribute the contents. A counterweight 14 or spring (not shown) may balance the weight of the frame.
