[Also in Group XVII] In a packing -machine, bags B are opened and then filled at 1 and fed on to conveyers 4 having known vibrating means 5 to settle the contents. They are then fed on to a continuously-moving conveyer 7 by means of pushers 12, 13. The pusher 12 imparts to the bag a velocity equal in magnitude and direction to that of the conveyer 7, whilst the pusher 13 simultaneously advances the bags in a direction transverse to the above to deposit them in front of flights 14 on the conveyer 7.
