Abstract

905,813. Waveguide filters. COSSOR Ltd., A C. May 2, 1961 [April 21, 1960], No. 14074/61. Class 40 (8). A waveguide filter comprises a slotted partition 11 having a choke cavity 13 surrounding the slot 12. The partition is arranged in a rectangular waveguide through which it is desired to propagate S-band signals but not X-band signals. To this end, the length of the slot parallel to the broad walls of the guide is made #s/2 and the depth of the choke cavity is made #x/4, where the symbols denote the wavelengths of the two bands. The width of the choke cavity may be enlarged at its closed end. The cavity may be filled with dielectric material.
