Abstract

1,013,524. Waveguide filters. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. Dec. 21, 1962 [Dec 21, 1961], No 48283/62 Heading H1W. A band-stop filter is provided by means of an undercut recess in the ridge 2 of a ridged wave guide 1. The recess may be in the form of a hole 3 of circular section communicating with a narrow slot 4. A parallel resonance circuit is formed by the inductance of the hole and the capacitance of the slot.- This capacitance may be varied by means of a tuning screw (not shown) which extends vertically into a central widened portion of the slot 4. The hole 3 may be horizontally elongated and arranged either symmetrically or asymmetrically with respect to the slot. A number of filters may be arranged in series to realize a desired characteristic.
