905,481. Radiants ; radiation burners. BUTTNER, H., and BUTTNER, K., [trading as STETTNER & CO.]. Feb. 3, 1960 [Feb. 4, 1959], No. 3907/60. Classes 75 (1) and 126. In a surface combustion heater, comprising a perforated ceramic plate 5, a grid consisting of flat ceramic bars 6<SP>111</SP> in louvre-like or cellular (not shown) arrangement is mounted in front of the plate 5. Preferably each bar 6<SP>111</SP> is tapered along its lower edge. A coating of silver, gold or platinum may be applied to the side faces of the bars to increase their reflective qualities.
