Abstract

904,472. Gravity-separation apparatus. PINTSCH BAMAG A.G. April 29, 1960 [April 29, 1958], No. 15193/60. Class 46. Sludge may be drawn off from a number of traps 5 to 8 arranged in a pyramidal tank 1 of square cross-section. Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) depict a cylindrical tank having a sloping bottom and traps arranged at different levels around an axial supply pipe. In each case the withdrawals are simultaneous the sludge from one or more selected levels being re-introduced into the clarifying tank and that from the remaining level or levels being discharged. The incoming liquid to be clarified is introduced at the bottom of the tank by a pipe 4.
