Class 52(5) A collapsible clothes drier comprises a central upright stem 1, a sleeve 3 slidable on the stem, two pairs of diametrically oppositely disposed radial arms 5, 6 pivotally secured to the sleeve 3, two pairs of diametrically oppositely disposed suspension arms 12, 13 pivotally secured to the top 8 of the stem, a pair of parallel spaced line supporting members 15 each pivotally secured at one end to the radial arms 5 and at the other end to the suspension arms 12, a clothes line 16 between the members 15, each of the radial arms 5, 6 being pivotally connected to a suspension arm 12 or 13, and an upper collar 2 being provided to limit upward movement of the slidable sleeve 3, the relative dimensions of the members 5, 6, 12, 13 and 15 being such that they fold alongside the stem 1 upon downward movement of the sleeve 3. The suspension arms may be pivotally secured to a cap 9 rotatable on the top 8 of the stem.
