[Also in Group XXIX] A boat propulsion means comprises an engine driven hydraulic axial piston pump 4 having a variable output controlled by the hand lever 18, which drives an axial piston hydraulic motor 12 to rotate a propeller 15. The propeller shaft 14 and motor 12 are located in the bottom of a hollow housing 21 through which pass the hydraulic lines 9 and 10. The housing 21 is pivotally mounted about vertical and horizontal axis by the clamp 23. The housing 21 may be mounted inboard.
