Abstract
891,027. Coating bakers' goods. UNILEVER Ltd. March 7, 1958 [March 12, 1957; April 19, 1957], No. 7392/58. Class 28 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A device for dispensing at least two paste-like materials to form a striped stream comprises a container, which may be formed as a collapsible tube 1 having one or more projections 9 formed in a main passage of an inner tube 2, one or more secondary passages 10 passing through the wall of the nozzle 6 of the tube 2. Each tube is filled at 7 with paste of a different colour, the striping effect being obtained as the paste in the tube 1 is delivered through the passages 10 when the tubes are squeezed. In a modification the bore of the inner tube is divided by projections, Fig. 8 (not shown), which meet at the centre of the bore, in place of the projections 9. Alternatively, Fig. 3, the device may be in the form of a single tube 13 having a tubular insert 15 forming a part of the main passage, paste of one colour filling the space surrounding insert 15 only, the remainder of the tube 13 containing paste of a second colour. Again, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), the tubular insert may have internal projections meeting at the centre, similar to those described above, and such projections may be integral with the tube nozzle rather than on the insert. The tubular insert may define the whole of the main passage. The tube or tubes may be of aluminium. The device may be used in decorating cakes. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 813,514.
