Abstract
899,816. Grinding mills. ALTENBURGER MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. Nov. 3, 1959 [Nov. 18, 1958], No. 37210/59. Class 59. In a grinding mill having an inlet 1 and feed worm 2 for the material to be ground and at least three rotor stages each comprising radial impact plates 11 adapted to sweep past a vertically fluted stator 12 to produce air eddies, carrier air for the material to be ground is supplied through an aperture 5 while grinding air is supplied through apertures 7, 8, Fig 2, adjustable by means of sliders 9, 10. The aperture 5 forms an air lock if more than a predetermined quantity of material is supplied to the mill. The plates 11 are adjustable so that they may be brought closer to the stator in ascending order. The material ground in the rotor zones passes to a chamber 13 having a rotor body 14 to which are secured webs 16, Fig. 4, provided with inclined ejector plates 17 to cause heavy, coarse or unground parts of the material to pass tangentially towards an outlet 18 which is partly closed by means of an adjustable flap 19. The ejected material may be collected or drop down a pipe 3 for re-circulation by the feed worm 2. Sufficiently ground material is induced through a ventilator 22 into a spirallike delivery housing 23. The material being ground may be dried by heating the air supplied to the mill.
