Abstract

899,189. Washing granular materials. SIMANACCO Ltd. Dec. 5, 1960 [Dec. 18, 1959], No. 43206/59. Class 82(2). [Also in Groups XVIII and XXIX] Means controlling jig-wash boxes where the total feed to the wash box is regulated in the event that the quantity of one or more of the fractions dealt with by the washbox exceeds a predetermined value comprises a vibrating screen feeder 2 from which the two fractions pass over separate weighing devices 3, 4 and are then combined and fed to the wash box 1. The most dense of the materials in the wash box are raised by a conveyer 5 and fed to a screen 6 from which two fractions are weighed at 7, 8. The middlings from the wash box are raised by a conveyer 9 to a screen 10 and the floats passed to a screen 13. Separate weighing means 11, 12, 14, 15 are provided for the screens 10, 13. In the event that the weight of any one faction exceeds a predetermined value, the weighing device actuates a valve in a pneumatic circuit to vary the pressure supplied to a rotary device controlling a rheostat, variations of which adjust the quantity of materials fed by the feeder 2. The feed may also be adjusted by a float actuated device in response to the resistance in the wash box. The control may alternatively be provided by mechanical or electrical means.
