Abstract

898,521. Cycle pumps. BRECKNELL, W. H. Sept. 24, 1958 [June 24, 1957], No. 19734/57. Class 136(1). A cycle pump is provided with locking means attached solely to the cylinder component 1 for preventing relative longitudinal movement between the cylinder component 1 and the piston component when the ends of the inflator are held by and between fixed stops 3. The piston component is provided with a handle 2. The locking means comprises a series of rotatable rings 6 mounted for axial movement on the cylinder 1. The rings 6 are mounted on a sleeve 7 having a longitudinal slot extending the whole length. Each ring 6 has an internal flange 8 having a longitudinal slot 9 which can be brought into and out of alignment with the slots of the other rings and in and out of register with one or more protrusions 5 on the cylinder.
