896,160. Rotary pumps and motors. NOREN, S.A. May 4, 1959 [May 9, 1958], No. 15101/59. Class 110 (2). A shaft 3 has a flange 3a having holes 3b slidably mounting pins 4 rotatably mounted in an axially-slidable non-rotary member 6 having a concave cylindrical surface which together with a portion 13 forms a working channel 14 through which the pins 4 pass with a sliding fit during rotation of the shaft 3, the end faces of the pins engaging the end face 6a with a sealing fit so that axial adjustment of the member 6 varies the capacity of the channel 14 and the displacement. The outer cylindrical surface of the member 6 and portion 13 are sealingly engaged by the inner periphery of teeth 15a on a member 15 rotatably mounted in the housing 1a which is provided with inlet and outlet parts 16, 17. The Specification describes two other embodiments one including a modified slide arrangement and the other a gear drive between the pin carrier and other toothed member so that they rotate in synchronism without engaging. The latter is of fixed capacity and may be used as a meter.
