Abstract
881,136. Roller-way conveyers. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Dec. 17, 1959 [Dec. 20, 1958], No. 42889/59. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXII] In operation of a device for placing together rolled stock, especially profiled stock, on a roller bed, a roller 3, Figs. 4, 4a, tilts the stock 6 while a further roller 4 aligns the stock 7 correctly on the roller bed. The roller 4 also completes the tilting of the stock 6 so that it falls into position on the stock 7, the two lengths of stock then passing to a cold-saw together. The straight surfaces of the rollers which are coincident, horizontal and slightly below the conveying plane at the start of the tilting operation in the embodiment of Figs. 1-8 (not shown, except Fig. 4), may also be angularly displaced as shown in Fig. 9 so that the tilting operation is completed in 360 degrees rotation of the rollers 3, 4. In another embodiment the straight surfaces again coincide but a tappet 5, Fig. 15a, overturns the on-edge stock 6 to complete the tilting in 270 degrees. In a further embodiment a freely-rotating roller 8, Fig. 17a, is provided with its working surface in the plane of the conveying rollers.
