Abstract
A process for moulding substantially stress free objects possessing a uniform fine-grained structure comprises preparing a melt of crystallisable plastic material having uniformly dispersed therein from about 0,1 to 1% by weight of a very finely-divided salt of a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid, placing said melt in a mould and cooling it. The crystallisable plastic material may consist of a polyamide, polyurethane, polyethylene, or polytrifluorochlorethylene. The fatty acid salts specified are the magnesium, calcium, zinc, lithium, sodium, potassium, cadmium, aluminium and lead salts of stearic, oleic, palmitic, and montan wax acids. Specifications 590,042, 627,836 and 851,300 are referred to.ALSO:A process for moulding substantially stress-free objects possessing a uniform fine-grained structure comprises preparing a melt of crystallisable plastic material having uniformly disposed therein from about 0,1 to 1% by weight of a very finely divided salt of a saturated or unsaturated fatty acid, placing said melt in a mould and cooling it. The crystallisable plastic material may consist of a polyamide, polyurethane, polyethylene, or polytrifluorochlorethylene. The fatty acid salts specified are the magnesium, calcium, zinc, lithium, sodium, potassium, cadmium, aluminium and lead salts of stearic, oleic, palmitic, and montan wax acids. Specifications 590,042, 627,836 and 851,300 are referred to.
