Class 112 In a sewing machine, control means for the work-lifting and work-advancing motions of the feed dog are fixedly mounted on the looptaker drive shaft, and a crank, rotatably mounted on said shaft, is connected to follower means associated with the work-advancing control means, whereby angular adjustment of the crank about the axis of said shaft controls the rate of work feed. The looptaker driving shaft 10 carries a triangular cam 25 and a circular cam 26. One end of a bar 30, carrying the feed dog 29, rests on cam 25, and the other end is pivoted to an arm 32 on a rock shaft 33. Cam 26 is embraced by the forked end of a bar 43, the other end of which is pivoted to a bar 42 on shaft 33. A pin 46 on bar 43 is journalled in a block 47 slidable in a slot 48 formed in a crank 49 carried by one end of a tubular shaft 52 journalled on shaft 10. A crank 53 on the other end of shaft 52 is connected by a linkage 54, 55, 57 to a rotary shaft 56 carrying an external handle, manipulation of which serves to vary the inclination of slot 48 for adjusting the feed. A gear 11 on one end of shaft 10 is connected by a toothed belt to the machine arm shaft. A gear 20 on the other end of shaft .10 meshes with a gear 22 on a shaft 21 carrying the looptaker 21a. Gears 20, 22 are enclosed in a box 17. The base 1 of the machine is formed under the standard with an aperture 60, and the standard is attached to the base by screws 63.
