Abstract
886,738. Keylocks. MERCANTE, A. July 1, 1958 [July 10, 1957], No. 21065/58. Class 44. [Also in Group XVIII] A door lock is provided with a single indicator which is slidable into two or more positions and vice versa by means operable from the inside and which is slidable from the outside from one position to the other positions but not vice versa. The lock, Fig. 1a, has a bolt 1, a safety bolt 2 and an indicator plate 4 which is provided with a ratchet tooth 7, 10 pivoted at 8 and held in position by a spring 9. The lock is controlled by a pawl 11 having two extensions, one extension 12 being adapted to reciprocate the bolt 1 and the plate 4 whilst the other extension for actuating the bolt merely controls movement of the plate 4 in one direction only. In a modification Fig. 3, the lock incorporates a bolt 14 controlled by an internally and externally extending key, a latch 15 and spring loaded safety devices 16, 18 controlled by a pawl 19 and control means 23, 24 respectively. The latch 15 is connected to an indicator plate by a pin 27.
