[Also in Group XXIII] In a brush-making machine (see Group XXIII), a brake device is associated with the main operating handle 42. A brake band 46 is adapted to expand into frictional locking engagement with a surrounding part of the machine when the tapered end 44 of the handle 42, pivoted at 41 to the end of a shaft 40, is moved into a gap 45 in the brake band.
