Abstract

A spinning ring having a generally frustoconical on to surface with a shoulder 9 (see single Fig., not shown) has an inner surface which is hyperbolic in cross-section. The associated traveller has an inner straight limb 6 and on its outer parallel limb 7 an inwardly bent portion 8 which can engage the shoulder to retain the traveller on the ring: in operation however the portion 8 does not engage the shoulder.
