Abstract

886,435. Cutting webs. DOLBEAU, R. April 9, 1959 [May 21, 1958], No. 11987/59. Class 31 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A cutting device for severing a running paper web transversely comprises a triangular blade 40 carried on a block 41 traversed rapidly across the web by chains (not shown) operated by a motor 28. The web passes between guides 19, 20, the guide 20 supporting a slideway 43 for the block 41. Switches (not shown) are provided at each end of the knife's traverse to control the motor. The device forms part of a wrapping machine (see Group XVII).
