Abstract

856,192. Slitting and perforating paper &c. ROLLEN PATENT PRODUCTS Ltd. Aug. 31, 1959 [Sept. 8, 1958], No. 28506/58. Class 31 (1). [Also in Group XVI] In a machine for slitting or perforating a sheet or sheets of paper, cardboard, and the like comprising a bed 1, 2 having a hardened strip 4 substantially flush therewith, a slitting or perforating wheel 15 mounted in a carrier 11 movable along a rod 10 and capable of pivoting about the axis of the rod, the wheel edge being brought into contact with the strip 4 and pressed into operative contact with a sheet or sheets A laid on the bed 1, 2 by the hand of the operator used to move the carrier, by means of a handle 18, to cause the wheel to roll along the strip 4, a spring-urged clamping bar 19 provided with rubber strips 21 is engaged by a roller 14 mounted in the carrier when the wheel 15 is urged into operative position so as to clamp the sheet or sheets. The latter are positioned by means of a raised strip 22 and by stops 26 adjustable in slots 24. One or more adjustable collars 27 are provided on the rod 10 so as to produce an operating stroke of the wheel 15 of predetermined length.
