886,258. Fuel nozzles. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd., JOSEPH. Oct. 25, 1960 [Nov. 2, 1959], No. 37075/59. Class 75(1) A fuel nozzle comprises a tubular member 1 having a seating 8 at its fuel discharge end for a valve 10 held closed by a coiled tension spring 12 one end of which engages a helical groove on the stem of the valve and the other end of which engages a helical groove on a reaction member 13. The reaction member 13 is secured by a transverse pin 14 to a sleeve 11 disposed within the tubular member 1. The fuel passes through a circular mesh filter 3 having a peripheral plastic ring 4 resting within the bore of the tubular member 1. The valve is opened by fuel pressure.
