Abstract

886,118. Wall-plugs. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CONSTRUCTION CO. Ltd. June 5, 1958 [June 6, 1957], No. 18032/57. Class 89(1). A wall-plug comprises a tube 1 of a pliable synthetic resin or hard but pliable natural rubber or synthetic rubber compound, closed at end 2 and open at end 2a; and a cup-shaped part 6 integral with or sliding on said open end to receive the head 13 of a pin or bolt 12 inserted into the tube, and a sealing mastic 21 surrounding the head. The bore of the tube is smaller than the pin diameter except for a lead-in and the pin has a groove 15 to pass out air during driving of the pin. The tube has a flange 3 to abut wall surface 19 and a suspended article 17 is gripped between the flange and part 6. The head 13 deforms the end of the tube and is then surrounded with a sealing mastic 21. Finally a cover 9 is fixed to part 6. In another arrangement instead of a pin 12, an expanding bolt is inserted in the tube.
