884,475. Fluid pressure brakes. GOODRICH CO., B. F. March 9, 1959 [March 10, 1958], No. 8095/59. Addition to 884,474. Class 103 (1). The hydraulic adjusting mechanism for brakes according to the parent Specification is modified in that a single diaphragm 15 replaces the two diaphragms in the parent Specification. Fluid passes from inlet chamber 17 to outlet chamber 19 when the pressure in chamber 17 acting in space 50 via ports 51, 52 and 38, 39 in housing 30, diaphragm 15 and spacer ring 35 respectively, exceeds the bias of spring 44 to raise diaphragm 15 to open port 27, the diaphragm being also raised by a predetermined high pressure in chamber 19 for flow from chamber 19 to chamber 17. The housing 30 of spring 44, diaphragm 15, ring 35 and piston 25 are clamped together by rivets 32, the ring 35 having slots 37 to surround the rivets. Specification 833,857 also is referred to.
