Abstract

884,407. Ingot moulds. FOUNDRY SERVICES INTERNATIONAL Ltd. March 2, 1960 [Jan. 21, 1959], No. 2293/59. Class 83 (1). A hot-top comprises a lining of tiles 1 of heat-insulating or exothermic material having formed therein at positions spaced apart along the height of the tile, re-entrant portions 2 into which a member 3 for suspending the tile may be engaged. The tiles may thus be suspended at different heights as required. The tile may have stepped recesses 8, Fig. 3, and hollows 9 which act as gas vents or air-insulating pockets. Specification 838,676 is referred to.
