879,065. Finishing yarns. MOULINAGE ET RETORDERIE DE CHAVANOZ. Nov. 30, 1959 [Dec. 1, 1958], No. 40646/59. Class 120(3) Cellulose acetate yarn is permanently crimped by twisting, setting the twist by heating and untwisting as in a false-twist crimping process, and then subjecting the yarn, while it is free from tension, to a further treatment with steam or dry heat at a temperature e.g. 75-85 ‹C., which is lower than that of the first heat treatment. The second treatment may be applied continuously to a running yarn, or yarn wound on bobbins so that shrinkage e.g. 30-35% may occur, or to skeins.
