Abstract

876,636. Stoppers. VAESSEN SCHOE MAKER HOLDING N.V. May 6, 1958 [May 6, 1957], No. 14458/58. Class 125(3). [Also in Group XXV] A screw-type connection or stopper, comprises two components, at least one of which has a screw-thread 4, Fig. 1, formed of resilient material such as polyethylene to engage a thread 3 on the other components, the pitch of one of the threads differing from that of the other to an extent which can be accommodated by the elastic deformation of the resilient material, thus locking the screw-connection, and also forming a seal. The stopper is particularly adapted to a bottle, container, &c. Each component may have two screw-threads 5, 6, Fig. 4, to engage threads 8, 7, on the other components, the pitch of at least one of these threads differing from that of the others. The stopper-member may have internal or external threads, and the members may engage at end surfaces 9, 10.
