Abstract

868,889. Capacitors. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 4, 1960 [March 7, 1959], No. 7759/60. Class 37. Separate wound capacitors are made from a single roll of interleaved dielectric 3 and metal foils 4, 5, 6, 7 by weakening or perforating the dielectric along lines such as 9 shown in Fig. 2 before winding them on a former the completed role being subsequently broken at such lines to form the individual capacitors. The dielectric may be paper or a synthetic material and the wound roll impregnated with wax or an ethoxyline resin before the separate capacitors are broken off. Alternatively, the electrodes may be metal coatings on the dielectric or one metal foil may be used which is perforated at the same time as the dielectric.
