[Also in Group X] A vehicle roof construction comprises an outer metal layer and an inner liner panel secured adjacent thereto, said panel comprising a selfsupporting, relatively rigid and inelastic foundation lamina and a lamina of resilient material secured to one side thereof. The foundation lamina may be of composition fibreboard, and the resilient material may be a sponge or foam, e.g. of polyvinyl fluoride, rubber, polyurethane, polyester, polyether or cellulose, and may be substantially thicker than the foundation lamina. The foundation lamina may have one or more bead-like deformations, offset from its plane, and the resilient material may then'be deformed correspondingly, or may extend over and conceal the beads.
