[Also in Group XVII] A stackable and nestable tray 40, having a base 41 with opposed side wall portions 42 rigidly connecting the base with a wire bead 43 is formed with upper portions 43a vertically above lower support portions defined by recesses 41a; and is so dimensioned that the lower support portions of an upper tray when stacked rest upon the upper support portions of a lower tray. By shifting the upper tray in a horizontal plane just enough to allow its lower support portions to clear the upper support portions of the lower tray, it can be nested within the lower tray. Many modifications are described, the majority relating to skeleton-construction trays in which the support portions consist of bent portions of the wall rods.
