Abstract

859,197. Vehicle lamps. PEZZOPANE, H. A. Oct. 1, 1958, No. 31340/58. Class 75(4). An electric lamp for illuminating parts of a vehicle, e.g. to facilitate wheel changing, comprises a casing having a cup-shaped body 11 containing an electric light bulb 19, a lens 12 secured across the open end of the casing and a flange, collar or equivalent means 9 for securing the casing in an opening in a bodywork panel 30 of the vehicle with the casing pro. truding at one side and the lens at the other, there being an aperture 21 in the casing to provide illumination on both sides of the panel. The lamp may be circular, oval or diamondshaped and may be secured to the panel by screws passing through an outturned part 14 of the flange 9, the inner edge of the part 14 being bent inwards to secure the lens 12 in position. Alternatively the casing may be threaded and a rim screwed on to this to secure the lens in position. A liner of transparent material may be provided or a glass cup inserted into the casing.
